White is the natural read — glass minnows and small pilchards are pale and translucent, and on clear flat-calm days white is the least suspicious thing in the slick.

3/32 sits between the 1/16 that washes out and the 1/8 that sinks out, which makes it the everyday choice for light to moderate current.

Light fluorocarbon leader. If the bite dies, go lighter before changing anything else.
