Forty-five grams is light-tackle jigging weight — nearshore reef, shallow wrecks and slack tide, where a heavier jig drops through the strike zone too fast to get looked at.

Going lighter is genuinely worth doing when conditions allow. A lighter jig hangs longer in the zone, which is the single biggest trigger for a fish that is holding and not chasing.

Blue reads as a natural pelagic baitfish in clear water. Assist hooks top and bottom.
