Collection: 2 Hook Pompano Rigs

Two-hook pompano rigs, hand-tied with float beads on quality leader.

The two-hook build is the one most surf anglers should fish most of the time. Fewer droppers means fewer tangles on the cast, a cleaner presentation in moving water, and far less time spent picking apart a bird's nest in the dark before first light.

You give up one bait in the water compared to a three-hook rig. In heavy current, a stiff crosswind, or any surf with real push in it, that trade is worth making — a two-hook rig that lands straight beats a three-hook rig that lands in a ball.

Bait both hooks with sand fleas or fresh shrimp, pair with a pyramid or sputnik sinker heavy enough to hold, and put it in the first trough.
