Collection: 3 Hook Pompano Rigs

Three-hook pompano rigs, hand-tied with float beads on each dropper.

A third hook does two things. It puts another bait in the trough, and — often more important — it adds another set of colored floats to the spread. On a clear calm morning that extra flash is what turns a school cruising past into a school that stops.

The cost is tangle risk. Three droppers want to wrap on a hard cast or in a strong sweep, so fish these on the calmer days and step down to a two-hook rig when the surf builds or the wind comes across the beach.

Run different baits on different hooks — sand flea on one, fresh shrimp on another — and let the fish tell you what they want that morning.
