Collection: Rods, Reels & Combos

Saltwater rods, reels and matched combos.

A combo is the sensible way to start, and often the sensible way to add a specialist setup. The rod and reel are already balanced to each other, the line rating matches the blank, and you avoid the common mistake of hanging a reel that is too heavy or too small on a rod that fights it.

Match the setup to where you fish. Inshore work for trout, reds and snook wants a light fast rod you can throw a quarter-ounce jig with all day. Surf fishing wants length above everything, to punch a pompano rig past the bar and keep line up out of the wash.

Whatever you buy, rinse it after every single trip. Salt is what kills reels.
