Collection: Surf Fishing

Pompano rigs, shark rigs, pyramid and sputnik sinkers, long leader and everything else that goes in the sand spike.

Surf fishing is the one discipline where the rig does most of the work. You cannot see the fish, you cannot follow the bait, and you are asking a leader to hold position in moving water while a float bead lifts your hook just off the bottom into the trough where pompano actually feed. Get the rig right and the beach produces; get it wrong and you spend the morning re-tying.

These are the rigs that work from the Panhandle beaches through Sarasota and down the Atlantic side, and the same patterns produce on the Alabama and Texas surf and up the seaboard through the Carolinas and Virginia.
