Pro Series cast nets in clear 3/8-inch mesh, loaded at 1.5 lb of lead per foot of radius.

The lead weighting is the whole point of this series. At 1.5 lb per foot, the net sinks fast and closes hard — which is what you need in deep water, over a bait school that will scatter, or anywhere current would drag a lighter net off target before it reaches bottom.

A slow net over deep bait catches water. Bait feels the pressure wave and drops out the bottom of the circle before the lead line ever closes. Heavier lead solves it directly.

The trade-off is honest: a 1.5 lb net is real work to throw all morning. If you are mostly throwing shallow at pilchards in the grass, a lighter 3/4 lb net will tire you out far less.

Clear mesh in 3/8-inch handles the range from pilchards up through mullet.
